Use the accusative after από:

Κύπρος is feminine despite ending in -ος. Its accusative is Κύπρο. Masculine Καναδάς becomes Καναδά. The other feminine country names in this lesson keep the same noun form.
The final -ν in την follows the sound rule from the accusative lesson. Notice από την Ελλάδα, but από τη Γαλλία. Keep τον with masculine names.
Είμαι από την Ελλάδα.
I’m from Greece.
Η μητέρα μου είναι από τον Καναδά.
My mother is from Canada.
Είμαι από τη Θεσσαλονίκη.
I’m from Thessaloniki.
Είναι από το Λονδίνο.

4. Asking where someone is from
- πού — where

| Από πού είναι ο πατέρας σου; | Where is your father from? |
Από πού είσαι; is the most natural way to ask “Where are you from?” The words από πού stay together. You can add the subject pronoun for emphasis: Εσύ από πού είσαι;
Είμαι από τη Γαλλία. Εσύ;
I’m from France. And you?
Δεν είμαι από την Ιταλία.
I’m not from Italy.
